Update: DIY Movement Proof that RenGen Has Arrived!

This weekend was the very first City Made Fest. It featured Chicago-based musicians, brewers and artisans. Held in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood, this new festival was a celebration of all of the great stuff being made in Chicago.

The DIY movement encourages the creation and marketing of  hand-made goods. It’s rapid growth via Etsy and Make is just more evidence that the creative influence of the RenGen (renaissance generation) is going mainstream. Our team member, Donna Shultz, trend-scouted the event and captured this shot. She reports the fabulous weather, great local bands and bevy of hand-crafted goods made it a one-of-a-kind weekend event. Not bad for a days work.
